Vitry-en-Perthois, a French village

Charming town of about 800 inhabitants, Vitry-en-Perthois iwas created during the Roman era, and reached its peak in the Middle Ages, being an important site of seigneury. It was burned in 1544 by the armies of Charles V then rebuilt a few kilometers away by François I: it is the creation of the sister larger town Vitry-le-François.
